Bayer's Crop Science division is engaged in plant protection, varietal seeds and non-agricultural products. We are looking for a proactive, resilient and highly skilled Agronomist to join our pan-Baltic team of dedicated agriculture professionals in South of Lithuania.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with farmers, agricultural consultants, and distributors. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert agronomic advice and support.
- Business Growth: by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategies, and closing deals.
- Product Promotion: Promote crop science products, including seeds and crop protection solutions, to existing and potential customers.
- Field Visits and Support: Conduct regular field visits to assess crop conditions, diagnose issues, and provide on-site recommendations to improve crop performance.
- Technical Assistance: Offer technical support to customers, helping them implement best practices for crop management and use of agricultural products.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs. Use this information to inform other squads members.
- Training and Education: Provide training sessions and workshops for customers on crop management practices, product usage, and new agricultural technologies.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and field observations. Prepare regular reports on sales performance and market conditions.
WHO YOU ARE
A candidate with:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Crop Science, Agronomy, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in agricultural field or related roles within the crop science industry of experience in agronomy, crop consulting, or agricultural sales.
- Experience working directly with farmers, agronomists, and other stakeholders in the agriculture sector.
- Proven experience in sales within the agriculture industry, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Hands-on experience with crop management practices and agricultural inputs such as fertilizers, pesticides, and seeds.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of agronomy, crop production, pest management, and soil science.
- Expertise: Strong promotional skills with the ability to develop and maintain client relationships, identify opportunities, and close deals.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with farmers, agronomists, and other stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose crop issues and recommend appropriate solutions to enhance crop yield and quality.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in analyzing crop data and trends to inform sales strategies and product recommendations.
- Customer Service: Strong focus on customer satisfaction and the ability to provide exceptional service and support.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with agricultural software and tools used for crop management and sales tracking
- Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to agricultural sites, customer locations, and industry events.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions and company priorities.
- Team Collaboration: Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, research and development, and customer support.
- Passion for Agriculture: Genuine interest in crop science and a commitment to supporting the agricultural community.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.
- Fluent in English and Lithuanian
