We are currently recruiting two highly motivated Research Scientists to join the Targeted Radiopharmaceuticals team developing theranostics for the treatment of cancer.
We are looking for candidates with a background in preclinical in vivo molecular imaging and radiochemistry.
The research scientists will play a key role supporting our preclinical imaging strategy performing PET /SPECT/μCT, MRI and Optical Imaging studies, biomedical image data processing, preparation and QC of radiolabelled drug products.
These laboratory-based positions offer an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team developing new theranostic approaches in targeted alpha therapy for the treatment of cancer.
We are looking for either PhD level scientists, or MSc level graduates with relevant experience.
Examples of responsibilities
- Ensure a safe and compliant laboratory environment
- Animal handling, administration of drug product and operation of a diverse park of preclinical imaging systems
- Apply expertise for experimental design, preparation and documentation
- Perform radiolabelling and QC of our drug candidates to be tested in vivo
- Perform quantitative analysis of imaging data using state-of-the-art software tools, extracting PK parameters and dosimetry data
- Present and discuss data to other scientists and departments, develop and maintain a culture of teamwork and collaboration, in a multidisciplinary environment
Background and experience/ qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Biophysics/Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Radiochemistry, Biology or a related field. A master's degree with relevant experience and strong skills will also be considered
- FELASA certification or similar. In vivo small animal handling skills such as inhalation anesthesia; iv and ip injections; familiarity with animal welfare protocols/guidelines for the conduct of in vivo studies is an advantage
- Previous experience/expertise in small animal imaging modalities MRI, PET, SPECT, optical and/or μCT as well as biomedical image processing and data analysis is desirable
- Radiochemistry experience with radioisotopes suitable for theranostic approaches
- Laboratory experience with techniques such as chromatography and characterization, including LC-MS, HPLC, TLC is an advantage
- Preferably experience in handling radioactive materials and knowledge of radiodetection methodologies
- Radiation safety certificate or similar. Experience with handling radioactivity for preclinical experimentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven abilities to work in a team environment with high motivation and strong work ethics
