Bayer's Crop Science division is engaged in plant protection, varietal seeds and non-agricultural products. We are looking for a proactive, resilient and highly skilled agriculture professional to develop tailor made and innovative Crop Protection and Biologics solutions in the allocated Crop Protection segment. The role offers an active participation in key strategic projects within Central & Eastern Europe cluster and EMEA region.
Position is to be located in any of the 3 Baltic countries.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop tailor made, competitive Crop Protection and Biologics solutions for EMEA and for Baltic countries in the frame of EMEA development that meet customer and market requirements in a respective segment (all main crops / indications).
- Maintain proximity to the local markets to anticipate customer needs and Crop Protection trends.
- Define and implement development strategies in the respective crop protection segment to ensure an optimized time to market process in close collaboration with partners within Field Solutions, Regulatory Science and Commercial.
- Plan, evaluate and ensure that all trials for the registration process are documented according to GAP/Label recommendations and following EPPO standards, internal SOPs or specific Country legal requirements. Actively contribute to zonal/European development projects as a member of the respective committees and task forces.
- Propose and build trial program for proof of concept ideas as possible pre projects and ensure a sufficient input of project ideas, local customer needs as well as market and agronomic conditions from the cluster markets into the regional Field Solutions organization.
- Manage trials contributing to an excellent technical knowledge of new products and the availability of a robust technical core data package that can help for further commercial positioning according to the strategy.
- In the EU, support the Biology Data Managers in the preparation of the Biological Assessment Dossiers and similar documentations as well as supporting with additional claims of the authorities during the evaluation process.
- Cooperate and network with external trial cooperators / Official institutes and key technical opinion leaders.
- Act as mentor for new colleagues in Field Solutions to share experience and to help them to build necessary knowledge.
- Within Field Solutions take part in different projects related with innovations within key strategic initiatives.
- Drive sustainable innovation by delivering and evaluating innovative ideas (LCM, Service, Digital,) balancing technical benefits and sustainability aspects.
- Support Regulatory Science colleagues by constant communication with local authorities, national label development and existing label corrections which is business crucial as for product registration as for the sales.
- Within respected country act as administrator dealing with all administrative tasks needed for proper execution of Field Solutions tasks (managing the trial costs, managing the contracts and invoices etc.).
WHO YOU ARE
A candidate with:
- University degree or equivalent in Agriculture, Horticulture or Biological Sciences with several years of experience in the fields of plant pathology, weed management or applied entomology (e.g. PhD).
- Excellent knowledge of crops and practical cropping systems as well as good experience with field trials and field testing methodology.
- Solid experience in the development of crop protection products.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Good project management skills.
- Good team player, ability to work in cross functional teams.
- Good networking and communications skills.
- Flexible and reliable person, takes clear ownership for tasks.
- Familiar with common IT applications like Microsoft Office and database systems.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Driving license.
